Craig Trompeter

Craig is a Guild Certified FeldenkraisPractitioner®. While pursuing degrees in cello performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Craig became interested in the Feldenkrais Method® as a way of relieving his own chronic pain and performance-related difficulties. In addition to his work at the Feldenkrais Center of Chicago he has presented workshops on the Method to musicians and the general public in California, Connecticut, Indiana, Massachusetts Minnesota, New Mexico, and Washington. He gives Functional Integration lessons in the Chicago Feldenkrais Training Program.  An accomplished musician, he performs and teaches early and contemporary music for cello and viola da gamba . He appears in concert and over the airwaves with the Newberry Consort, Chicago Opera Theatre, Music of the Baroque,and the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society and has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Symphony. He has recorded on the Harmonia Mundi, Cedille, and Centaur labels.  He is general director of the Haymarket Opera Company.
